Smarty + Nanny Care® BM-03 combines a dual-stage cot mattress with an advanced breathing monitor to support your baby’s sleep and give your family extra peace of mind.

While the Smarty mattress provides breathability, comfort and firmness adapted to two stages of growth, the BM-03 monitors breathing movements without coming into contact with your baby and activates an audible and visual alert in the event of a possible irregularity.

It also includes a reminder if you forget to activate it, ambient temperature monitoring and the option to connect two sensor pads to a single control unit, expanding the detection area when your baby starts moving around the cot more.

All without cameras, Wi-Fi or placing any device on your baby.

Use and maintenance

Place the sensor pad under the Smarty mattress, centered in the area where the baby's chest will rest and supported on a flat, firm, stable surface. The pad must remain fully extended and must not be folded.

If the crib has a slatted base, a rigid board must be placed under the sensor pad. The combined thickness of the mattress and any additional layers between the baby and the sensor must not exceed 12 cm.

Connect the pad to the control unit and secure the cable so that it is completely out of the baby's reach. The unit must be installed in a visible location where the alarm can be heard clearly.

Carry out a functional test after installing the monitor, when changing its location, and whenever any part of the crib is modified. Use only non-rechargeable AA alkaline batteries.

To clean the sensor pad and control unit, use a slightly damp cloth. Do not immerse any of the parts or use abrasive products, solvents, or wet wipes.

To care for the Smarty mattress, follow the instructions included on its care label. Do not wash the core unless expressly indicated in the product documentation.

Important information: Nanny Care® is an alert device. It does not by itself prevent respiratory arrest, restore vital functions, or replace baby care, safe sleep recommendations, or medical attention.

Exchanges and returns

Ecus Kids mattresses can be exchanged or returned within a 30 calendar days from delivery. If you need to do so, open an incident in your customer area, explain the reason, and in case of exchange, the desired new item.

Custom-made mattresses cannot be exchanged or returned.

Warranty and certificates

Smarty + Nanny Care® comes with a 3-year warranty.

The Nanny Care® breathing monitor is a Class IIb medical device with CE marking. The sensor pad has a service life of 2 years from its first use and must be replaced once this period has elapsed.

The product warranty and the service life established by the manufacturer for the sensor pad are different concepts.

Smarty + Nanny Care® combines two complementary solutions. The mattress provides your baby with a comfortable, breathable surface tailored to their stage of growth, while the monitor tracks their breathing movements during sleep.

Firmness that supports their growth

The Smarty mattress features two firmness levels, designed to adapt to your baby's changing needs as they grow.

Its materials promote breathability and provide a comfortable, suitable surface to support their rest at every stage.

An alert so you can take action

If it stops detecting breathing movements for approximately 20 seconds, the monitor activates an audible and visual alarm. It also alerts you if the breathing rate falls below 8 breaths per minute.

This allows you to go to your baby, check their condition and act as needed.

More control and coverage as they grow

The BM-03 alerts you if it detects that your baby has been placed in the crib while the monitor remains switched off. It also displays the room temperature, includes a night light, and automatically adjusts the brightness of its indicators between day and night.

When your baby starts turning over and moving around more, you can connect a second BM-03D pad. Both pads work simultaneously with a single control unit, expanding the detection area without using two separate monitors.

The second BM-03D sensor pad is sold separately.

Components

Smarty Mattress

Mattress with two firmness levels to adapt to different stages of growth. Designed to provide breathability, comfort, and a sleep surface made from safe materials.

Detection system

Sensor pad placed under the mattress and connected by cable to the control unit. Suitable for babies weighing 1 to 15 kg. The total thickness between the baby and the pad must not exceed 12 cm.

Alarm system

Audible and visual alarm after approximately 20 seconds without detecting breathing movements. It also alerts if the rate drops below 8 breaths per minute. Approximate sound level of 80 dB at 1 metre.

Additional features

How does the breathing monitor work?

The sensor pad is placed under the mattress and detects the baby's breathing movements. The control unit visually indicates each recorded movement and triggers an alarm if it stops detecting them or if the breathing rate drops too low.

What does Smarty + Nanny Care® include?

Includes a dual-stage Smarty cot mattress and a Nanny Care® breathing monitor, consisting of a sensor pad, a control unit, and installation accessories.

Does the monitor come into contact with the baby?

No. The plate is installed under the mattress, so it does not touch the baby or restrict their movements. There is also no need to put bracelets, sensors or any other device on them.

Does it need Wi-Fi or a mobile app?

No. The sensor pad is connected by cable to the control unit, and the system operates independently on two AA alkaline batteries.

It does not require Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a camera, or a mobile app.

How is it installed under the Smarty mattress?

Place the sensor pad on a flat, firm base, under the mattress and centred in the area where the baby's chest will rest. Keep the cable out of reach and install the control unit in a visible and audible location.

If the bed base has slats, you will need to place a rigid base underneath the pad. After installing the system, always carry out the functional test described in the manual.

Does the monitor prevent sudden infant death syndrome?

No. Nanny Care® is an alert device that can warn of a possible توقف or decrease in breathing rate.

It does not prevent respiratory arrest on its own, restore vital functions, or replace safe sleep recommendations, adult supervision, or medical care.

Can it be used in a co-sleeping crib?

It can be used in a bedside crib as long as it is not in contact with the adults' bed.

Movements from the person sleeping next to the crib could be transmitted to it and interfere with detection. When using the monitor, the crib must be kept separate from the bed.

When should the sensor plate be replaced?

The sensor pad should be replaced every 2 years from its first use, even if it appears to still be working.

With use and over time, the sensor may lose sensitivity and affect the correct detection of movements.

What should I do if the alarm goes off?

Go to your baby immediately and check their condition. If they are not breathing normally or do not respond, contact emergency services and follow their instructions.

Child first aid should only be administered in accordance with the training received. The alert warns of a possible abnormality, but does not determine its cause or replace an assessment by a healthcare professional.

Can the detection area be expanded?

Yes. The BM-03 allows a second BM-03D sensor pad to be connected to the same control unit.

Both pads work simultaneously and expand the monitored area when the baby starts moving more around the cot. The second pad is sold separately.
