Use and maintenance

This elevating wedge can be placed under any mattress, as long as the width of the wedge is the same as the width of the mattress, so that no part of the mattress is left in the air. If it is much narrower, it will result in an unstable and unsafe surface.

To facilitate its maintenance and hygiene, the Care Up wedge can be washed with neutral soap and a damp cloth whenever needed.

Exchanges and returns

Ecus Kids products can be exchanged or returned within a period of 30 calendar days from delivery. If you need to do so, open an incident in your customer area and explain the reason to us, and in case of exchange, the new desired item.

The Care Up wedge is a fantastic accessory to use occasionally when the baby suffers from gastroesophageal reflux or when they have respiratory problems such as congestion or cough.

By elevating the baby's torso and head while sleeping at the correct angle, we prevent stomach acids from rising and reaching the throat, causing reflux. The gastroesophageal reflux is very common in the first year of a baby's life, as their digestive system is still immature.

The Care Up wedge is also indicated for babies with colds, bronchiolitis, difficulties breathing, or even for ear pain. Incorporating the baby helps reduce the buildup of mucus in the upper respiratory tract, relieves cough, and improves breathing during sleep.

Liftable and foldable design

The anti-reflux wedge for the Care Up crib allows to adjust the incline in 4 positions according to the specific needs of the baby. Following the recommendations of pediatricians and specialists, the wedge can be placed at 20º, 18º, 16º, and 10º to accommodate the baby's congestion or reflux state.

This elevating wedge is made of MDF wood, a very resistant and highly stable and durable material. It is non-slip and safe for babies, it does not move, even if they shift while sleeping.

Thanks to its foldable design, it can be easily stored flat in any drawer. It can also be left under the mattress without bothering the baby and, thus, elevated on specific nights and folded when not needed.

What is gastroesophageal reflux and why does it occur?

Gastroesophageal reflux occurs when the contents of the baby's stomach, such as milk or food, back up into the esophagus. This happens because the sphincter that separates the stomach and the esophagus is not yet fully developed in babies, allowing the stomach contents to temporarily return.

It is a common condition in babies and is generally not a cause for concern, as their digestive system is still developing. However, it can cause discomfort, irritability, or vomiting in babies. Usually, it improves over time as the baby grows and their digestive system matures. If there are additional concerns or severe symptoms, it is always advisable to consult a medical professional.

Can the anti-reflux wedge be replaced by a pillow?

The wedge and the pillow have different functions. The wedge is specifically designed to gently elevate the baby's torso and help prevent gastroesophageal reflux and respiratory conditions.

It is not advisable to use pillows, towels, blankets, or any similar objects to prop up the baby, because all these items can pose a risk of suffocation or obstruction of the airways in babies during the first year of life.

Therefore, pillows at these ages are recommended for use on other surfaces to prevent flattening of the head, such as strollers, hammocks, or car seats, where the baby is in a fixed position and is not at risk of suffocation. Your baby can start using a pillow in the crib under the recommendation of a doctor or specialist. It is advisable that children do not use a pillow until they are 2 years old.

It is essential to follow safety guidelines to provide the safest possible environment for the baby's rest.

Can the accessories be returned or exchanged?

Yes. At Ecus Kids you can make exchanges or returns within 30 calendar days after receiving your item.

Returns of items are free if there is a manufacturing defect. Returns for any other reason have a collection fee of 6 €, which will be deducted from the amount to be refunded.

If what you want is an exchange of item for one of equal or higher value, the exchange will have no cost. If the new item is of lower value, the shipping cost of the new item is 6 €, which will be deducted from the amount to be refunded.

For the Balearic Islands, the cost of exchange or return of items is 9 €.
For the Canary Islands, the cost of exchange or return of items is 15 €.

If the item shows signs of incorrect or improper use, its exchange or return will not be accepted.
